Jump to Recipe

A Spicy Strawberry-Basil Mezcalita is a refreshing and vibrant cocktail that combines the flavors of strawberries, basil, mezcal, and a touch of spice.

Strawberries are first muddled to release their sweet juices. Basil, lime juice, honey, and red chili flakes are then added and muddled more to round out the base of this drink. The basil adds a refreshing and aromatic element and the red chili flakes at a touch of spice, complementing the sweetness of the strawberries.

Mezcal, an ancient Mexican spirit made from the agave plant, is the key ingredient that gives the cocktail its smoky and earthy undertones. Mezcal adds complexity to the drink, enhancing its overall flavor profile and giving it a unique twist.

All of these ingredients shaken together with ice combines for a well balanced cocktail with the sweet, fruity essence of strawberries, the aromatic freshness of basil, the smoky complexity of mezcal, and a hint of spiciness from the red chili flakes.

A Spicy Strawberry-Basil Mezcalita captures the essence of summer and delights the taste buds with its unique combination of ingredients.
